Instructions on how to donate Meat

Create a 'Better Hunting' account

Complete the knowledge check

  • Enrol in ‘Hunt and Share’.
  • Complete the 10 question knowledge check (once done you won't need to do again).

Bone and wrap your meat

The meat needs to be clean with no bone. You may want to freeze some meat and then add to it, making a good sized package. That’s ok, even if you shot the animals in different places. The key is having the ID number which allows us to track the meat if we need to.

Because the Government has only given broad parameters re the donation of meat it is over to us to maintain a high standard of preparation

If in doubt throw it out.

A good check is this: ‘Would I be happy to consume this?’
