The Southern Lakes Branch is part of the National Association of the New Zealand Deerstalkers Association.

Due to the nature of the Queenstown population;  the branch attracts people from all over the world, we have a good mix of Kiwis,  as well as a good mix of "new" Kiwis from the UK, USA, Canada, South Africa, Ireland, Australia, Czech Republic, India and many more.

You don't need to be a member to come to a meeting or indeed have to come to every meeting if you are a member. Just get in touch if you are keen to be part of a local hunting community and nationally recognised association.

MEMBERSHIP

Our members share an interest of the outdoors and conservation through Hunting.  There are many levels of firearms/hunting skills in the membership and you do not need to have a firearms licence to join.

We are an active branch and organise a number of club hunts and social events. There are many opportunities to volunteer for conservation projects in the local area including Pest control and trapping, Deer management, Hut repairs/rebuilds in conjunction with the Back Country Trust and much more

We also have a good working relationship with our local Department of Conservation and advocate for hunter access.
